Auspicious time for entering a new home — first time, after renovation, or returning after a long absence.
Griha Pravesh (literally 'entering the home') is one of the sixteen Vedic samskaras. The classical view: entering a new home at an inauspicious moment can introduce vaastu disturbance that persists for years — so the muhurat is treated as load-bearing. The strongest dates combine a stable (sthira) nakshatra, a Shukla-paksha tithi other than 4/9/14, and avoidance of Rahu Kaal on the chosen day.
Prefer Shukla Paksha (waxing moon) — Krishna Paksha is acceptable only if all other factors align.
Best weekdays: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Avoid Saturday and Tuesday.
Abhijit Muhurta is the safest time within the day for the threshold-crossing ritual.
Avoid Mala-maas (Adhik maas), Pitra Paksha, and the month of Magha (mid-Jan to mid-Feb) traditionally.
