Vedic astrology uses your Moon sign (Janma Rashi), based on the Moon's position at your birth time. If you don't know it, you can use your Sun sign — but a free Kundli will give you the more accurate answer.

Why are Sun-sign-based dates different here?▼

We use sidereal (Vedic) sign dates, which differ from the tropical (Western) zodiac by about 23 degrees. So someone born on April 15 might be Aries in Western astrology but Pisces in Vedic.
