Jai Ganesh Deva — Ganesh Aarti Lyrics in Hindi & English

Best time to recite

At the start of any puja, exam, business launch, or journey. Daily during Ganesh Chaturthi (10 days from Bhadrapada Shukla 4).

Repetitions

Sung once, slowly, while waving the aarti lamp clockwise.

About this Aarti

Ganesh ji is invoked first in every Hindu ceremony — as the remover of obstacles (Vighnaharta) and the lord of beginnings, no Vedic ritual proceeds without his blessing. "Jai Ganesh Jai Ganesh Deva" is the standard aarti sung at the start of any puja, before the main worship begins.

The lyrics describe Ganesha's iconography (large body, single tusk, mouse vehicle) and praise his three primary qualities: removing obstacles, granting prosperity, and giving wisdom. The aarti is short — about 3 minutes when sung at temple pace.

On Ganesh Chaturthi (the 4th day of Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha) this aarti is sung daily for the 11 days of the festival. It is also customary at every Sankashti Chaturthi (the 4th day of Krishna Paksha each month).
