About this puja

Satyanarayan Puja is the most universally performed Hindu puja — invoking Lord Vishnu in his form as the lord of truth. Performed on Purnima (full moon), important life milestones, after fulfilment of a vow, on house-warming, or simply for a fresh start. Includes the recital of the Satyanarayan Katha (5 chapters), aarti, and prasad distribution.

Preparation Guide

1Bathe in the morning before the puja and wear clean traditional clothes (yellow / white preferred).
2Set up a clean platform / chowki facing East in your pooja room.
3Have all samagri ready 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
4Keep family members assembled (this is a family puja — ideally include children).
5Phones on silent during the live session.

●Banana leaves (4) and bananas (12)
●Coconut (1) with husk, supari (5), paan (10)
●Sandalwood paste, kumkum, akshat (raw rice + turmeric)
●Ghee, honey, sugar, milk, curd, panchamrit ingredients
●Wheat flour or rava (250g for prasad sheera)
●Incense sticks, ghee diya, camphor
●Conch shell (if available), bell
