Vedic Muhurat Tool
Find Day & Night Choghadiya muhurat for your city — pick Amrit, Shubh, Labh, or Char for auspicious work; avoid Udveg, Kaal and Rog. Updated live for sunrise / sunset of your location.
Quick primer
Choghadiya (literally 'four ghadis') is an ancient Vedic muhurat system. It divides the day (sunrise to sunset) and the night (sunset to the next sunrise) into 8 equal parts each — 16 muhurats in total. Each muhurat is ruled by a planet and is classified as either auspicious or inauspicious.
Choghadiya is especially popular in Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra for picking the right time to start a business, travel, marriage, or any new endeavor. It is considered as important as Rahu Kaal in everyday muhurat selection.

Common Questions
Choghadiya (literally 'four ghadis', ~96 minutes) is a Vedic time-division system that splits the day (sunrise to sunset) and the night (sunset to next sunrise) into 8 equal parts each — 16 muhurats in total. Each muhurat is ruled by a planet and is classified as auspicious (Amrit, Shubh, Labh, Char) or inauspicious (Udveg, Kaal, Rog). It's used to choose the best time to begin any new work, especially in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
Each row shows one of the 8 day-time or night-time slots in order, along with its name, nature (auspicious / inauspicious) and the start–end window. Look for the green-tinted (Auspicious) rows for any new venture, and avoid the rose-tinted (Inauspicious) ones. If you're viewing today, the slot active right now is highlighted with an orange 'NOW' badge so you can see what's currently running at a glance.
Amrit Choghadiya is the most universally auspicious and is recommended for any new beginning — pujas, marriage, signing contracts, launching a venture. Among the other auspicious choghadiyas, choose by intent: Labh (ruled by Mercury) is best for financial work and business launches, Shubh (Jupiter) is excellent for marriage and religious ceremonies, and Char (Venus) is ideal for travel, vehicle purchase, and anything involving movement.
Routine and ongoing activities (regular office work, daily chores, commuting) can continue without concern. But for new beginnings — starting a business, signing major contracts, beginning a journey, fixing a wedding muhurat, or scheduling surgery — wait for an Amrit, Shubh, Labh or Char window. Kaal (Saturn) is the most inauspicious for new ventures, Rog (Mars) for health procedures, and Udveg (Sun) brings worry and obstacles to fresh starts.
Day-Choghadiya covers sunrise to sunset (8 slots of ~96 minutes when daylight is 12 hours; longer/shorter by season). Night-Choghadiya covers sunset to the next day's sunrise (also 8 slots). The starting Choghadiya is determined by the planetary lord of the weekday, and the night sequence offsets from the day sequence — so even on the same date, the day-table and the night-table show different names at different times. This is why you need to check both tables based on when your activity is planned.
