Shubh Muhurat for
First solid food ceremony — usually at 6 or 8 months for babies.
Annaprashan (literally 'feeding rice') marks the baby's first taste of solid food. Performed at 6 months for boys, 8 months for girls, with a small symbolic spoonful of cooked rice (or kheer). The classical muhurat favours Pushya nakshatra and Shukla Paksha days — beyond that, parents usually pick a date close to a family gathering.
Boys: 6 months. Girls: 8 months. Earlier than the 6th month is traditionally avoided.
Pushya nakshatra is the most powerful day for Annaprashan, regardless of weekday.
Best weekdays: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
Avoid Saturday, Sunday for the formal ceremony, though a small family meal anytime is fine.
